Álvaro García Pascual, scorer of the winning goal - his first for the club - spoke after the win against UD Las Palmas: "We knew the importance of a win. We had focused a lot on the game because we knew what it meant and we were able to get the win in front of our fans. When I saw the ball went it it was a wave of emotions. At first I wasn't sure if it had gone it but it was a relief when the final whistle went. We got it, we won this final. It is my first goal for Sevilla and I hope it won't be my last." The academy graduate is already thinking about what is to come: "Now it is time to continue working. We have another game at home against Real Madrid. We have to come out hungry, give it our all and three to get the points in front our of fans once again."

Suso also spoke after the win against UD Las Palmas, highlighting that it was a vital win to restore confidence: "It was a different type of final but nonetheless a final at the end of the day. We had gone many games without winning and we all deserved it." He recognised that the team has lacked confidence and luck in other games, but today they were able to free themselves. He also highlighted the role of the fans: "They started the win. I knew that if we could give them something, they would respond and then did so perfectly. I had in mind to try to change the difficult atmosphere of the week. I asked them to score the first goal and they did. Today we had that bit of luck, we have known how to work hard and suffer and today it has paid off."

Juanlu assessed the win after a difficult week, highlighting the key role of the fans: "After so long, winning in front of the fans is a relief, a way of giving them back something after everything they have given us during the season." He underlined the intensity of the game: "When two teams are playing for their lives, it's a war. We kept a clean sheet and that always gives us a better chance of winning. I would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate Alvaro. Another academy graduate, and he scored as well, it's incredible." He also criticised the long stoppage time: ‘They added nine and in the end we played almost 14 minutes more. This is going to be normal, but we are prepared to suffer until the end, and we did."
