The club can confirm that Antonio Cordón has joined as the new Director of Football following the departure of Víctor Orta. He has signed a three-year deal. Our new Director of Football started his career at Villarreal CF in the 1999/00 season. After staying there for 17 years, he moved to AS Monaco, winning the Ligue 1 title.
After one season at AS Monaco, he became the sporting CEO of the Hope Group, which is responsible for Granada CF, AC Parma, Congqing Lifan and CD Tondela. In three seasons, he managed to take Granada to the First Division and a historic spot in the UEFA Europa League. He also took Parma to consecutive promotions, from Serie C to Serie A.
He then moved to the Ecuadorian Football Federation, but only stayed for a couple of months before returning to Spain to join Real Betis. During his three years at Betis, they won the 2021/22 Copa del Rey. Cordón then went to Olympiacos FC, where he won the UEFA Conference League. Up until now, he was the Director of Football at Five Eleven Capital. He will join us in the coming days as he starts his new role.
