Sevilla Football Club continues to establish itself as a technological leader in sports and has been present at one of the world's major technology industry events, the Mobile World Congress, held in Barcelona during the first week of March.
In collaboration with IBM, Sevilla FC has been present in the exhibition area of the congress, participating in an immersive experience that allowed attendees to understand firsthand the use of the Scout Advisor tool. This tool was created by the club and IBM using their Generative AI platform, WatsonX. As part of this experience, visitors at MWC had the opportunity to play with a foosball table that utilizes generative AI to generate player performance reports similar to those produced by the club's scouts. These reports feed into Scout Advisor, which summarizes and optimizes the collected information, reducing the time needed for consultation and access.
Likewise, the club's head of data, Elías Zamora, took part in a roundtable discussion on the transformation of scouting in football through the use of generative artificial intelligence. He had the opportunity to present the club's technological projects to leading companies in the sector, as well as national and international media specializing in technology.
The presence at the Mobile World Congress has also served as a platform to announce that Sevilla FC has become the first club in the world to join the AI Alliance, an organization founded by IBM and Meta that already has over 150 members, including companies and academic institutions, aiming to promote an open and ethical use of Artificial Intelligence. Additionally, Scout Advisor and Sevilla FC have also been featured in an article published on Meta's AI blog as a success story in the use of its Llama 3 model.
