Sevilla FC President, José Castro, attended a talk on Sevilla FC Radio from his office at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán to give his thoughts on the team's form and discuss the recently announced promotion for members ahead of this Friday's match against Granada. When speaking on the squad's current form, Castro said that "there are 24 points up for grabs and that's a palpable reality. The team is well-positioned to accomplish a spot in the Champions League again and we have to fight for that." Although the team didn't come away with any points, there are some positives to take from the loss against FC Barcelona: "The team faced up to the task and could have even come away with a draw against the most in-form team in the league. It shouldn't be forgotten that they came into the game off the back of winning in the Bernabéu, but we gave it our all until the end."
Now we have two games at home and the strength of the team has to be shown: "We are still up there in the league and it's down to ourselves, we have played brilliantly sometimes and on other occasions not so brilliantly. There are eight games to go and five of them are at home, a place where the team have shown they're strong and won the majority of their points. That should be our mindset in order accomplish the objective. It's not a cliché. Together we are stronger and and if we head in the right direction, we'll get what we are looking for. There is no doubt that this season the fans have been fundamental in many of the games."

For them, they have also introduced a series of measures so that Nervión shows off its best side this Friday against Granada. "That we are going to have the support of fans there's no doubt because we are Sevilla FC and its fans always support the team, especially when it's most needed. Against Granada, on Friday of Sorrows and in the first of these eight finals, we have taken measures so that the Sánchez-Pizjuán will have an incredible attendance. All those season ticket holders who can't come can make their ticket available for other Sevilla fans to see the team. Also, every member can get a ticket with 50% off. I am sure that the fans will carry on carrying the team in the five games left here."
Sometimes you have to look at things with perspective. "Don't forget that we are having a great season and I don't remember another year in which we have ended so many consecutive match days in second. What we can't do is lose it and for that reason we can't drop any more points. I am sure that with the support of our fans we can do it. I am not a man of excuses but we have had 21 players with covid and the effect that this has had. The injuries we've had have been unspeakable and this has without doubt weakened the squad. I don't want to focus on it but there have also been some unacceptable refereeing decisions. Even so, I am sure that we are going to achieve the aim of not finishing outside of the Champions League places. I am sure that we are going to get players back and the final run in will be exciting."
