LOPETEGUI: "WE'RE HOPING TO PLAY A GREAT GAME AND COME AWAY WITH THE THREE POINTS"

Julen Lopetegui appeared before the media today ahead of tomorrow's clash against Real Madrid. He stated the team were awaiting the game with hope and excitement: "We're going into the game with the same desire as any other. Real Madrid are top of the league - we know how tough it will be but we are hoping to play a great game and come away with the three points. That's our goal."

Lopetegui was asked about how he experienced Semana Santa in the city: "We really enjoyed this marvellous Semana Santa - we really took in all the culture of the city and its religious traditions." Returning to the game, he outlined: "It's going to be an exciting but demanding game for both teams. We're focused on playing on our strengths to help us overcome a top team. They've just qualified for the Champions League semi-finals in a superb manner. The only thing we're focused on is playing the match and getting the three points."

Asked about the quality of individual players like Benzema and Courtois, Julen preferred not to hone in on any single player, but instead focus on the quality of the Madrid team: "Benzema is an extraordinary player - he has had a brilliant career and he is decisive for Madrid. But we're up against the entire Real Madrid team, with some of the best players in the world and an incredible coach. All of their players are among the best in the world in their position."
