Gonzalo Montiel was the final Sevilla FC representative to make an appearance in this international window with the Argentinian victory over Jamaica (3-0). The Sevilla wing-back was involved from the start, but was replaced towards the end by Nahuel Molina.
The Argentina side, which saw Papu Gómez and Acuña left unused, won by a large margin for which they had to wait until the dying moments of the game, when Messi scored a brace after coming off the bench. This killed off the match which was opened with a goal from Julián Álvarez in the first 15 minutes.
With this match, as well as another to come against the United Arab Emirates in mid-November, the Argentine national team are already setting their sights on their 22nd November World Cup opener against Saudi Arabia.
