1-4: DORTMUND TAKE THE POINTS AFTER A DOMINANT FIRST HALF

Sevilla FC trailed from the fifth minute, and whilst they had clear chances in the first half, they were outplayed by the Germans right up until the half-time whistle.

It was a difficult night in the Champions League for Sevilla, where Borussia Dortmund took all three points on the third matchday of the group stage against a Sevilla FC side that found themselves behind in the fifth minute of the game with the first goal from Bellingham and were unable to find an equaliser in the chances they had before the Germans struck once more to end an emphatic first-half performance. In the second half, with an early goal from En-Nesyri, Lopetegui's men persisted in pursuit of a second goal without success until the visitors' fourth came, which sealed the Dortmund win at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán.

A disappointing first half came and went for Sevilla, where, a poor performance despite several goalscoring chances meant that the three points were more or less secured by Dortmund as the teams went back to the changing rooms for half-time. A resounding 3-0 scoreline separated the two teams at the end of the first forty-five minutes, with Borussia Dortmund looking dangerous practically every time they reached the attacking end of the pitch, and Bono conceding three. Guerreiro opened the scoring in the fifth minute, scoring from a cross from the edge of the area, which was deflected off José Ángel and ended up at the back of the net.

Sevilla FC improved slightly after conceding, creating a number of dangerous chances, but without finding the net. En-Nesyri had a couple of good chances, firstly after a precise through ball from Jordán, and then with a header from Suso's cross, but neither was capable of beating Meyer, who kept his side in front during the home side's momentum. Shortly before the break, Dortmund capitalized on a dangerous period of chances to score twice in quick succession. Bellingham scored with a solo effort inside the box, and Adeyemi scored from a rebounded Moukoko shot, making the score 3-0 just before half-time, with the home side already lacking in morale after failing to secure the equaliser and the ruthless reply from the visitors.

The second half, which started with changes from the Sevilla bench, gave us part of what we had been denied in the first half, a goal from En-Nesyri. The Moroccan made a solid header from a corner to get one back in the 51st minute. Borussia Dortmund almost replied instantly, but Bono made a spectacular save to deny Adeyemi after another dizzying run from the striker. Momentum had shifted in Sevilla's favour and we were again on target in front of Meyer, but Telles' low cross failed to find a free man in a chance that would have put Dortmunds lead in jeopardy.

Sevilla FC's momentum, however, faded as the minutes ticked away, with Borussia Dortmund now better positioned on the pitch and challenging Bono again, with Adeyemi and Malen, a substiute, giving Bono some work to do. And eventually the German team finally succeeded, this time with Brandt stepping forward, who headed in a delivery from Moukoko, almost unmarked in the six-yard box, which left Bono exposed. That was as far as the comeback attempt went, more desperate than calculated, although they continued to push forward in search of another goal. Dolberg, with an attempted bicycle kick, which struck the crossbar shortly before the full-time whistle.
