It has been a year and nine days since Sevilla FC last set foot on German soil, in the country where we won our last piece of European silverware and we last visited on the second matchday of the group stage of the last season's Champions League, to face off against Wolfsburg. This time round we find ourselves a bit further west, in Dortmund, a city we are visiting for the third time in our history and which we last visited 19 months ago.
Sevilla FC landed in Dortmund with clouds overhead and the threat of rain, as autumn is approaching faster in this part of Germany than in Sevilla. The temperature on landing was around 14 degrees Celsius, similar to what is expected for this afternoon's training session at the BVB Stadion Dortmund. In addition to the 23 players in the matchday squad and the Youth first team who are travelling to face off against the same opponents in the Youth League, the President José Castro, the Vice-President, José María del Nido Carrasco, as well as the board members Luis Castro, Carolina Alés, Jesús Carrión, Fernando Carrión, Enrique de la Cerda and Jorge Marín were also on board.
