NAGORE: "WE HAVE TO FIND THE PERFECT BALANCE TO GIVE OURSELVES THE BEST CHANCE OF WINNING"

Nagore Calderón spoke to club media ahead of El Gran Derbi. The Sevilla captain, who shared her thoughts at the club's media day, said first of all that, in the week ahead, you have to find the perfect balance: "On the inside, you prepare by taking your emotions into account, but on the outside, we have to try to balance this with everything else. We have to find the perfect balance between emotions, skills, tactics and psychological aspects and arrive ready to play."

"And from the point of view of a captain I try to ensure those new to the derby prepare for it with the effort needed, they are already noticing that it's something different. And I try to instil what they instilled into me when I arrived and they already know what a derby is like and what to expect from it. Many ask you questions, they sense it, they feel the difference and I think that's what we're looking for."

In addition, she insisted on the idea of going into the match with a fully fit team that have found this balance, something they are working on: "It's not easy, but it's the key. This game is different and you come off the back of a break, with longer to think about it. You don't win the game with just this excitement, you need more than that and we're all working on it, all the coaching staff and players are on the same path."

On the special side of a derby match, she stressed that "the more experience you have of it, the more you realise what it's like... time passes and you see that it is special, you remember all the matches, the chances you had to win, you remember everything and maybe not so much from other matches...".

As for the good squad dynamic and the break, she says that despite the break since the last match, the team is in optimal condition: "We would have liked not to stop, to continue because when you come from winning you want to keep playing, because the less time you have for morale to rise and fall the better, we have had many days that make you apreciate it when you return, but at the same time you would like to get back playing as soon as possible."

"We have teammates out, but the team is working well, the training sessions are intense, we think we know what we have to do tactically to win, but it's time to fine-tune things." On the team's performance at the minute, she highlighted the identity that the team is finding: "Maybe there are moments when we deserved more points, but talking about that doesn't help. At key moments we have failed and dropped points, but the team is finding its way, it has more and more identity and it's easier to get results... it's important to show that identity and bring it every week, because that will earn us more points".

In closing, Nagore Calderón wanted to send a message to Sevilla fans ahead of the game: "We always feel well supported, Sevilla fans have always been up to the task, we know that they always give their all, we hope to give it to them, to be able to give them the victory as we know how important this game is for the fans too.
