Loïc Badé was presented in front of the media on Tuesday as a new Sevilla player, despite the fact that he already took part in the league win over Getafe last Sunday. The first of Sevilla's winter signings commented that "the fact that there are new players is a positive thing. We are going to try to improve, bring a fresh perspective and I believe I can help the team out with my qualities and my desire to improve and ambition."
On his experience on Sunday, he said that "I was very surprised by the atmosphere of the crowd, the chants at the start... it was very nice. On the pitch I felt very good and we also got the win, so everything was positive".
When asked about his loan spell at Nottingham Forest in the first half of the season, he said: "It's great to be back on the pitch and playing again. I'm very happy, I hadn't played for a long time and Nottingham was complicated for me because I simply wasn't a part of the coach's plans.
I kept working and learned a lot because the mentality is different than it is here, and although I didn't play, I matured and if I didn't play it was only because the coach preferred other players. I didn't take it personally, but I do want to play and do well. There are players who play more and others less. I have a lot of hunger and ambition to play games and win them."
On his first game for Sevilla and his first victory with the side: “I hope to be a talisman for the team. We all have the same goal, which is to win games and gain points. If I prove to be a talisman, then all the better. I did not expect to make my debut so soon, but it was great."
"I am in good physical condition. I have settled in well at Seville, we were in Greece and I was a bit tired from preseason there, but I felt good at the training session two days ago and I am very excited to keep on playing. Sampaoli told me to relax, to play with freedom and he was very supportive."
Finally, he made it clear that he can adapt to any defensive system: “We have to be able to adapt our game as much in a back three as in a back four. We have to play in whatever way best suits the team. I do not have a preference and sometimes the formation will depend on the opponent."
