THE ESTADIO JESÚS NAVAS, A FORTRESS FOR THE WOMEN'S SIDE WITH MANY CHALLENGING FIXTURES COMING UP

The rise of Sevilla FC Women up the table certainly has something to do with the connection they have formed with the Estadio Jesús Navas. With last Sunday's victory against Villarreal CF, the side have claimed 18 points out of the 27 available in their nine league games at home, ahead of their fixture this weekend away to Real Sociedad. Cristian Toro's side have claimed five victories and three draws at home, with the only loss coming in the first game of the competition against Atlético de Madrid. 

Following this loss, the Women drew to the team they will next face in the league, with goals from Ana Franco and Jessica Martínez not enough to secure the victory in a closely-fought contest which ended in a draw. After this, the main pitch in the Ciudad Deportiva witnessed several victories as the team climbed up the table, beating Alhama CF 2-0 and Levante Las Planas 5-0, and then drawing with UDG Tenerife (2-2) and Athletic Club (1-1) which closed out 2022. In 2023, after losing to FC Barcelona in the Estadio Johan Cruyff, the Women's form improved drastically with victory against Madrid CFF (4-2) and then beating both Sporting Club de Huelva and Villarreal 1-0. 

As the team continues to focus on each game as it comes, the next match in Zubieta will be the final fixture for this month. However, Toro's side will face six more teams at home before the end of the season. In March, Levante UD and Betis will travel to Sevilla, Deportivo Alavés and FC Barcelona make the trip in April, with Real Madrid and Valencia Women CF being the final two home fixtures of the season. After the last match, our Argentinian coach said "we must keep on giving our all, trying to improve as a team in attack and maintaining solidity in defence".
