The Match
Sevilla FC vs PSV Eindhoven, in the UEFA Europa League Knockout Round Play-Off First Leg. Kick-off at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán is scheduled for 21:00 CET.
The two sides in Europe this season
This will be our first UEFA Europa League clash of the season, after a third-placed finish in the UEFA Champions League Group Stage. As for the visitors, the Dutch side finished second in Group A of the UEL, taking 13 points from a possible 18 against group winners Arsenal, Bodo/Glimt and Zürich.
Matchday Squads
Alex Telles has recovered from his injury and is a part of Jorge Sampaoli's 20-man squad. Pape Gueye is not included as he is not registered for the tournament. On the other hand, Ruud Van Nistelrooy has named a 23-man travelling squad, with Érick Gutiérrez, Anwar El Ghazi, Sávio, Kjell Peersman and Richard Ledezma missing out.
Facts
Just like we do, PSV know what it is like to win the UEFA Cup, as they won it in 1978 in a two-legged final against SC Bastia. A decade later, they went one better and won the European Cup in 1988, defeating Benfica in a penalty shoot-out in Stuttgart.
Referee
Romanian official Radu Petrescu will take charge of this match. Despite refereeing in European competition since 2012, he has never officiated a Sevilla match. However, he has been in charge of a PSV match, which was a 4-1 defeat away at LASK Linz in the UEL in the 2019/20 season.
