Sevilla goalkeeper Yassine Bono was present this Monday in Paris at the FIFA 'The Best' awards ceremony, where the winners of last year's awards were announced. The Moroccan was a finalist for the award of best Goalkeeper along with Real Madrid's Thibaut Courtois and Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, who was ultimately chosen as the winner by combining the votes of fans, a committee of journalists, as well as the coaches and captains of all FIFA's national teams.
Bono finished on the podium of this prestigious trophy, beating top goalkeepers such as Brazil's Ederson Moraes (Manchester City) and Alisson Becker (Liverpool FC), Croatia's Dominik Livakovic (Dinamo Zagreb) and Germany's Manuel Neuer (Bayern Munich). All this, after winning the Zamora Trophy for the best goalkeeper in LaLiga Santander 2021/22 and making history with his national team in Qatar 2022, leading Morocco to become the first African team to reach the semi-finals of a World Cup.
