MENDILIBAR: "WE GAVE OUR ALL BUT COULDN'T GET THE RESULT WE WANTED"

José Luis Mendilibar appeared before the press following the defeat against Girona FC. On what occurred at the Sánchez-Pizjuán on Monday, the Sevilla coach firstly said that "in the first half it was difficult for us to play our game. We didn't stop trying to score, it wasn't our day but the effort was there. We tried to put pressure on our opponent, but when they got near our goal they caused us issues... we have our all but we couldn't get the result in the end."

In this manner, he spoke about how his players never stopped trying: "You always have hope when you are losing 0-1, you concede a second and your spirit drops a bit but nevertheless, we kept on trying to score. They defended their box well, they cleared many of the balls that were coming into the box and we couldn't do much more." 

To close, the Basque coach spoke about what will happen between now and Thursday: "Three days isn't a long time to get the boys rested, but you always await the next match and try to win it, so that you can forget about this result."
