Lineups
José Luis Mendilibar has called up his entire squad for his side's all-important clash in Budapest in the battle for a seventh UEFA Europa League place. As a result, the Basque coach has called up all available players, as well as those who won't be able to make the squad. The list of 23 players also includes home-grown players Alberto Flores and Manu Bueno. For his part, Mourinho, with his entire squad, has brought back Dybala, one of the Portuguese coach's essential players for the current campaign, at the last minute.
Our Opponents
AS Roma are sixth in Serie A, one point ahead of Juventus FC, who were knocked out by Sevilla FC in the semi-finals of the UEFA Europa League. With one matchday left in the Italian domestic championship, Roma are currently in the UEFA Europa League places.
Opponent Fact
AS Roma won the inaugural UEFA Conference League in the 2021/22 season after beating Feyenoord 1-0 at the Arena Kombetare in Tirana on 25 May. For the second season in a row, Mourinho's side will contest a European final.
Referees
The match will be officiated by 44-year-old English referee Anthony Taylor. On the same stage as the UEFA Europa League final, Taylor was in charge of the 2020 European Super Cup, in which Sevilla FC lost in extra time to Bayern. The British referee also led Sevilla FC to a goalless draw against Basel in the last 16 of the UEFA Europa League, which they would go on to win in Basel. Under Taylor, meanwhile, AS Roma have a 4-2 defeat to Lyon in the last 16 of the 2016/17 UEFA Europa League and another in the 2018/19 UEFA Champions League group stage against Viktoria Plzen by a 2-1 scoreline. Under the English referee, the Italians also drew 1-1 with Ajax in 2020/21.
