Federico Gattoni spoke to the media this afternoon as he was unveiled as a Sevillista alongside Adrià Pedrosa.
The centre-back is delighted with his new move: "I know just how big this club is. I'm grateful because everyone immediately gave me that confidence and I hope to repay it. For my career it's a very important step. Coming to a league in Europe is a step up in quality, it's a step up in importance and I'm coming to do my best. I think it'll be a great season and we're focused on it."
Gattoni then spoke about the current squad and earning a place in the team: "I think that there will always be a squad of top players at big clubs like Sevilla. I'm coming to compete for a place and do the best I can, I think we have enough options to make the best of it and have a great year."
The Argentine also mentioned the role of his fellow countrymen in his move, and wishes to emulate Héctor Horacio Scotta: "Lots of Argentines have been here. A San Lorenzo legend in Scotta was at this club and has gone down in history, I'm looking to establish myself as he did. I spoke to all the Argentine players, they told me great things."
To finish, he was asked about the sporting management team, beyond the fact that the first contact for his signing was with Monchi: "I think that we're reinforcements for the club. Even though it was in principle due to the management of Monchi, Sevilla has a great team in that area and beyond that I have always felt that they all have confidence in me."
