Sevilla FC president José Castro spoke to the media once the Extraordinary Shareholders' Meeting concluded on Thursday evening. The Sevilla FC president assessed the meeting, starting by acknowledging that they knew it would be very technical: "Del Nido seems obsessed with removing the current board, which is achieving the successes it is achieving. It's regrettable that we find ourselves here on July 27th due to a personal interest, not that of the Sevilla fans. We have been here and fulfilled our duty because if a shareholder with more than 5% requests an Extraordinary Meeting, even if it's only his own interest, we had to hold it."

José Castro was questioned about the team's squad: "The reality is that having a meeting today doesn't help with planning at such an important moment. Del Nido hasn't cooperated; he only raises objections, makes promises, and never accomplishes anything. The planning is underway, but we need to be patient because we have a large number of players and need to free up space, both for financial and numerical reasons. Let's not forget that we are back in the Champions League, and I only ask for a little patience because we are going to build a great squad."

Continuing with the shareholders' meeting, he responded: "Here is the seventh Europa League title. We do everything wrong, and they want to get rid of us, but in the last five years, we have won two titles, so we must be doing something right. Not everything has been perfect; we started poorly, but we were able to rectify it, bring in players, and hire a magnificent coach who made us champions. While we were doing that, there were those who requested a court administrator for Sevilla FC. If that had happened, we wouldn't have been able to sign anyone, neither players nor a coach, and we would have ended up like Málaga, a situation I wouldn't wish upon anyone. That's the affection Del Nido has for the club."

"I don't know how many shares he holds or if the supporter are lasting or not. All I know is that the law, regarding the issue of minority shares, is clear: he cannot vote for the expulsion of board members because he already did so in 2018 when he added his own members. He only talks about the pact when it suits him, which is an eight-year pact, and we have completed four years. Everything is in the court. I don't know how many lawsuits he has filed against me, ten, twelve, fourteen... And all of them have been dismissed," highlighted the president.

Jose Castro also answered a question about the former sporting director "Monchi would have left with Del Nido or with Archangel Gabriel because he was clear that he was going to leave. He is a professional to whom we must thank for all the good he has done for us, but the reality is that he wanted to go to Aston Villa like any professional to earn a lot of money, and we wish him the best. I will check later if he has transferred his shares; that would be a nice gesture because they are twenty shares, but when I see it, I will give my opinion."

Regarding the shareholders' meeting, the president of Sevilla FC insisted on the club's positive trajectory: "I don't know what will happen in December, January, or October. We'll take it step by step. There are those who are interested in the club being punished. This is a miracle - that we win titles, stay at the top, and achieve things like huge social media engagement... Many things. It's not just me saying this. In Europe, they don't understand how we accomplish so much with our economic position, but they only focus on the negatives. But the reality is the reality, without any 'buts' in sport, with four consecutive Champions League qualifications, something Sevilla fans have never seen before."

"We still don't have a sponsor, not because we don't want one, but because we haven't accepted the amounts offered yet. We believe we deserve more and aim for the highest possible sponsorship," he concluded.
