Following Sevilla FC's annual visit to pay tribute to the Virgen de los Reyes, the first team, along with the coaching staff and some of the board of directors, walked to the Restaurante Robles Placentines for their first official team meal of the season. They enjoyed a relaxed lunch and had the opportunity to reconvene as they look to overcome an undesirable start to this season.
President José Castro wanted to create a sense of unity among the players, given that the team's goal is to "give fans the season they deserve", as he puts it.
"The most important thing now is to give everything and more to get the club out of this tough position at this early stage in the season. We have an extraordinary season ahead, in the Champions League, which many teams yearn to be part of. We have to escape the bottom of the table as that is not where we belong. Rakitic said in Athens that we are a family and so we have to behave like one, giving everything and with our quality we can overcome this quickly," added Castro.
The squad will return to work tomorrow morning at the training ground as they step up preparation for Sunday's visit to Atlético de Madrid at 18.30 CEST at the Civitas Metropolitano.
