AGREEMENT IN PRINCIPLE FOR THE SIGNING OF MARIANO DÍAZ

Sevilla FC have reached an agreement in principle for the signing of Mariano Díaz, subject to the striker completing his medical.

The 30-year old striker, who began his career at Real Madrid's academy, made his LaLiga debut in the 2016/17 season, and scored five and assisted two in 14 appearances that season.

A move to Olympique Lyonnais followed ahead of the 2017/18 season, where the Dominican Republic international burst onto the scene, scoring 21 goals and setting up another six in 45 appearances.

He returned to the Bernabéu ahead of the 2018/19 season, but injuries hampered his five-year spell, which came to a close in June. Mariano featured on 84 occasions for Real Madrid in his second spell, scoring 12 and assisting three.

The striker also has experience in Europe, with 21 appearances between the Champions League and Europa League. He also made one appearance for the Dominican Republic in a 2013 friendly against Haiti.
