VÍCTOR ORTA: "THEY WILL PLAY AGGRESSIVE FOOTBALL AGAINST US"

On Wednesday morning, Víctor Orta discussed our Champions League fixture against Arsenal, one of the toughest opponents in football. "We must always approach the game with positivity and optimism. It is a tough place to come. We are struggling for wins at the moment, but the boys' motivation, the occasion, the competition, and the football we're trying to play will play a key part in our bid to get something from the game. We must always play to win. At Sevilla we are ambitious and we want to win games. There have been a lot of mixed feelings within the club during the past few weeks, but we are confident that we have a squad and coaching staff that will bring us positive results very soon."

He also asked fans to remain patient with Diego Alonso, stating that "there's one coach that everyone is talking about at the moment - Xabi Alonso. However he only won one game during his first seven games at Leverkusen. But now, having been given time, he's getting great results. There is always a process of change when appointing a new manager half way through the season, even more so with the presence of European football. Everyone is working hard to get the results that we want, and we have full faith that victories will come soon. I'm sure of it. I implore the fans to have a little bit of patience. It always takes a little bit of time to get used to a new coach. We have a good squad and I'm sure the results will improve very soon. I know that our league position isn't particularly strong at the moment, but we must remain calm and patient. We can't always be angry and tense. This squad and coaching staff will get results."

In terms of his expectations of Arsenal, Orta explained that "playing at home, just like any team, they will be a little bit more brave. They aren't going to sit back and it is very possible that players such as Zinckenko get further forward than usual. They will look to create a lot of chances in the attacking third, so we will need a strong defensive performance. They are perhaps in their worst spell of the season having lost their last two games in all competitions, so I expect them to be a bit more direct against us, trying to starve us of possession. Hopefully we can exploit them at the back."

Discussing our recent performances, our sporting director admitted that "there have been some mistakes made, but the attitude has always been spot on. The players have always put in full effort, even when behind in the match, winning challenges and constantly running. There have been occasions where we looked like we needed a goal to get us going, and we must ask why we started so poorly against Cádiz and Celta Vigo, but the players showed great spirit to get back into the game and secure a draw. Of course, we want to be winning games rather than drawing, but the attitude has been superb.

Finally, Orta addressed the impressive number of travelling supporters. "I feel very proud that so many fans have made the journey to London. It is a wonderful stadium to visit and I hope that we can give them something to celebrate and be proud of. It would be a great moment for them if we can get a victory tonight."
