Marcos Acuña and Lucas Ocampos are selected for Argentina's national team once again. The two Sevilla players have been called up by Lionel Scaloni for the last international break of the year, in which their team will try to defend their lead in the South American qualification table for the 2026 World Cup. Argentina have won all four matches they have played, but now face two very demanding games.
On Thursday 16th November, they will host Uruguay in Buenos Aires, before they travel to Rio de Janeiro to play Brazil on Tuesday in an eagerly awaited clash. Argentina are currently five points ahead of their closest challengers - Uruguay and Brazil, as well as Venezuela - and could go further clear at the top of the table if they can win both games.
