Racing Cartagena were the latest victim at the fortress Estadio Jesús Navas as Sevilla Atlético recorded their sixth straight home win. Jesús Galván's side haven't conceded a single goal in six home games this season, and their latest victory, courtesy of a late Musa DRJ header, moved them to within touching distance of the top of the table in group 4 of the Segunda RFEF. After Marbella were beaten by San Roque de Lepe, Sevilla Atlético are now just a single point off top spot and host the league leaders in a huge game in two weeks time.
The opening period was not comfortable for the reserve side, struggling for possession against a well-organised Racing Cartagena at the Estadio Jesús Navas. However, with quarter of an hour gone, Musa produced a moment of individual quality to set up Isra Domínguez who went past Tekio in the area only to find the side-netting with his shot. Minutes later, the home side saw a possible penalty claim turned down by the referee.
Alberto Flores then displayed fine reflexes to prevent the visitors from opening the scoring
With the first half drawing to a close, Capi and Oso implemented a superb training-ground routine from a set-piece, the home captain teeing up the latter to try his luck from outside the box with a powerful effort that went just wide. Just before half-time, Alberto Flores then made a top reflex save from a vicious Tekio volley to deny the visitors and ensure the teams went in level at half-time
Late on, with only 15 minutes remaining, Musa broke the deadlock to put his side ahead from a pinpoint corner
In the hosts' first attacking foray of the second period, Manu Bueno fired over from the edge of the box before Migue Marín took aim from a dead-ball out wide only to see his curling cross-shot come back off the bar of Flores' goal. Shortly after, Galván was celebrating his team going one up; Musa rose highest at the back post to convert a brilliant Capi corner with a header that left Iván Martínez no chance in the away goal. The hosts then showed impressive game-management and defensive solidity in equal measure to see out the remainder of the contest and secure their sixth win on the spin at the Estadio Jesús Navas, an incredible run that has remarkably been achieved all without conceding a single goal at home.
