QUIQUE: "IT WAS A MORALE-BOOSTING DRAW AND IT GIVES US HOPE GOING FORWARD"

Quique Sánchez Flores reflected on Saturday's goalless draw at Mestalla: "It was a well-earned point. Valencia played safely but with composure. Things are progressing really well here. They have lots of energy and the squad is very you. They made things difficult for us at the start, but we established ourselves into the game gradually. We were the better team in the first half, playing some good balls forward, but without posing much threat in the final third. In the second half, we didn't offer much in way of attack. We lost momentum and that made the game more difficult for us."

Although we couldn't secure a third victory in a row, last night saw us keep another clean sheet, carrying on from last week: "Keeping tight at the back creates more stability in our performances, but we have to keep working hard. However, the draw has given us a boost in morale and proves the leve lof quality we have in the squad, making everyone realise that we are taking steps in the right direction, shutting down teams that believe they can beat us."

Now, onto the Bernabéu: "We have nothing to lose. When you play against the best team in the league, you have to give everything. Be prepared, ensure you have enough recovery time before jumping into another week of training, then put the hard yards. Then we have to turn up and put in a display that our fans can be proud of. We have to compete. If we compete, then maybe we can come away with a good result.
