Following Sunday's narrow defeat to Real Madrid, Jesús Navas spoke to the club media: "I thought that we put up a good fight and showed togetherness. Of course their goal happened very quickly, but my initial instinct is that there was an offside. A clearance always depends on the players around you. Rudiger was offside and Badé's clearance was influenced by his presence. He might not have touched the ball, but ultimately he is interfering with the play. It's a shame but these things happen, you won't always get the decision. We have to keep working hard."
Óliver Torres said "we all know that this is a very tough place to come where you have to bring your best performance. We played well overall and created a couple of very good chances. We went toe to toe with them, but they showed their quality with that goal. But I'm satisfied with the work we put in as a team and the togetherness that we showed. I can't wait to return to the Sánchez-Pizjuán on Saturday to try and get three important points in front of the fans." When asked about Modric's goal, he replied "it was a complex passage of play. Decisions are made quickly and the referee decided that it was not offside. But we have to take the positives from today despite not getting the result that we wanted. They are a very good team that usually puts their opponents under pressure. But overall we stayed pretty solid. Saturday will be a different game and we will have the crowd spurring us on for the win."
Finally, Badé gave his thoughts: "We could have kept another clean sheet today. They are fine margins but we will get back to work so that we can be better next time. We played well and on another day we could be leaving with more. Of course, we lost today, but we are all confident that we can put that right next week against Real Sociedad."
