3-0: NO LUCK FOR SEVILLA FC WOMEN AWAY AT SD EIBAR

Sevilla FC Women fell to a 3-0 defeat on Saturday away at SD Eibar. Cristian Toro's side came into the game having won last time out, against Real Sociedad before the international break, but things did not go the same way this time. On a positive note, academy player Alba Cerrato made her first start for the first team.

 Despite a shaky start, Sevilla FC Women grew into the game and were given a golden chance to take the lead. They were awarded a penalty for handball, but Inma Gabarro could not convert. Eibar goalkeeper María Miralles guessed the right way and denied and effort that was heading for the bottom corner. Yerai Martín's side then grew in confidence and broke the deadlock on the half-hour mark. Andrea Álvarez spotted Yolanda Aguirre off her line and found the back of the net from near the half-way line.

Toro made a triple substitution in the second half with the goal of changing the trajectory of the game, but in reality the home side only increased the intensity. With 15 minutes left on the clock, Andrea Álvarez scored her second of the game with an impressive header into the top corner. Eibar then had their third of the afternoon as Aguirre conceded an own goal, spilling a cross and tipping into her own net. 

The team will look to bounce back in the next match - an away fixture against Villarreal CF at 14:00 CEST on Sunday 21 April.
