EN-NESYRI'S GOALSCORING PROWESS SHOWS NO SIGN OF SLOWING DOWN

Youssef En-Nesyri once again showed us what he does best as we returned from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria with all three points. Our Moroccan striker opened the scoring with a wonderful header from Nemanja Gudelj's cross. Adding yet another goal to his personal tally, En-Nesyri continues to write his name among the best goalscorers that the club has ever seen.

He now has 68 goals in 189 appearances, overtaking Gameiro to become our fifth top scorer of the 21st century, just two goals shy of Wissam Ben Yedder's 70. In terms of foreign players, the Moroccan is now our sixth highest goalscorer, surpassing the likes of Gameiro, Diéguez and Scotta, with Ben Yedder's 70 goals once again the next target. Ahead of the Frenchman are Kanouté (136 goals), Luis Fabiano (107), Suker (90) and Acosta (84).

Once our no.15 surpasses Ben Yedder's tally for the club, he will enter our all-time top ten highest scorers - a list that sees Campanal I at the top with 217 goals, followed by Arza (206), Araujo (159) and Kanouté (136). In ninth, one position ahead of Ben Yedder, is Doménech, who scored 78 goals for the club.

Seven games remain of the 2023/24 season for En-Nesyri to keep adding to his tally. He currently has 15 goals for the season, eleven of which have come in LaLiga, two in the Champions League, one in the Copa del Rey and one in the UEFA Supercup.
