SEVILLA ATLÉTICO WIN THE LEAGUE AND EARN PROMOTION TO THE PRIMERA RFEF

Two years after relegation, Sevilla Atlético have achieved promotion back to the Primera RFEF, the third tier of Spanish football, after winning Group 4 of the Segunda RFEF. With one game still to play, the league title was sealed with a point against UCAM Murcia. Attention was also being paid over in Murcia as Águilas FC hosted second-placed Yeclano Deportivo, who needed to win and hope that Sevilla Atlético would lose to keep the competition alive heading into the final day of the season. Manu Bueno's wonderful early strike helped to settle the nerves at a packed Estadio Jesús Navas, ultimately sealing the vital point that saw our reserves lift the Segunda RFEF trophy.

Last week's victory over Vélez-Málaga had put the reserves on the brink of the league title, needing just one point from the final two games. And what better way to seal the title than in front of a jubilant home crowd, helping them get over the line. It has been an incredible season for Sevilla Atlético with the Jesús Navas proving to be a fortress. In fact, they have not lost a single game at home all season. One final game remains, away against El Palo FC, before the summer break. They will then return to the Estadio Jesús Navas for the new season, this time competing in the Primera RFEF.

Promotion sees Sevilla Atlético return to the Primera RFEF. This will be their second season in the competition having played in the inaugural edition during the 2021/22 season. They were unable to avoid relegation, finishing 17th, but will be hoping for a stronger campaign next year. Last season, amid plenty of changes within the academy, the reserves managed to achieve safety on the final matchday. However, this season, they have demonstrated a big step forward, both in attack and defence, topping the table for 20 matchdays. Five points ahead of second place with only one game to go, no one will be able to stop them from finishing the season as champions next week.
