Starting this season, Sevilla FC will have a new team within its competitive structure. It will be a squad with a strong international dimension and will compete in the Tecera Andaluza, in the ninth tier of Spanish football. It will consist of foreign players aged 18 in line with FIFA regulations. The project is not only sports-related but also a strategic international development initiative, allowing foreign players to help the club grow in various key markets.
This is a new pillar for the club’s internationalisation aims and will be coordinated by overseen by the club’s Innovation Center. The Innovation Center seek to promote research and development projects to respond to new trends and demands within the world of football. The new team will be treated exactly as the other youth teams, with its own technical staff, analysis training, media coverage, and medical support, along with access to the Ciudad Deportiva facilities. In its first season, it will not be 100 per cent non-Spanish players due to operational reasons, but the aim is to work towards this figure over future seasons. To finalise the team, trials will be held in the first week of August, open to all under-19 foreign players interested in joining this innovative project under the Sevilla FC brand.
The team will be managed by Óscar Olomo, a coach with extensive experience in the club's Women's B team, alongside his assistant coach Antonio González, a former youth player at the club who also has experience coaching the Women's B team.
