GOALKEEPER ÁLVARO FERNÁNDEZ SIGNS ON A FREE

Goalkeeper Álvaro Fernández has signed on a free to become our seventh signing of the summer. He arrives as a free agent on a one-year deal. The 26-year-old made his debut in the first division with CA Osasuna in the 2016/17 season.  

After spells with AS Monaco's reserve team and Extremadura in Segunda B, Fernández signed for SD Huesca, where in the 19/20 season his breakout season, winning promotion to LaLiga and making 22 appearances in the top flight the following year. 

In 2021/22 he went on loan to Brentford FC, where he played 16 games for the Premier League side. He then returned to Spain to RCD Espanyol, where he made 12 appearances in the 2022/23 season. He returned to SD Huesca ahead of the 2023/24 season in the second division, playing in all 42 league games and keeping 20 clean sheets.
