Head coach García Pimienta, spoke after the win against Real Valladolid, just before the announcement of his contract extension until 2027: “It was a hard-fought match, we knew how difficult it would be. We had a big advantage with the fans, they have been wonderful at all times encouraging the team, even when things weren't going well. We did a lot of things well, we had a lot of shots on goal. They have quality players and they caused us problems. We deserved to get the three points”.

Regarding Saúl's injury, he pointed out that: “It looks like a muscle injury in the hamstring, it is his first muscle injury. He said he had noticed something, we have to do some tests. He was quite sore”. He also valued the manner of the victory: “You can lose as happened against Villarreal or Girona, but you leave with the feeling of doing things well. In Vitoria you leave the game feeling pissed off for not playing well. The defeat is harder because what you build is lost. When you lose you want to play immediately but this match had to be played four days later. It is important how. You score, they equalise and you go for the win again. The fans are back with the team. We are happy for winning and for the way we won. We are also happy to put Friday's difficult defeat in Vitoria behind us."

“I hope that today's victory will make us stronger, build faith in the team and that we will be able to compete with everyone”

On Jesús Navas, our head coach once again praised the Sevilla legend: “We will always say the same thing and I hope we continue to say it, he is an example. He's on the touchline giving instructions and providing support. It was not easy, he has been very good. I take my hat off to him. May he rest as much as he needs and may he help us again in Bilbao." García Pimienta wanted to focus the objective on the next match at San Mamés: “We are in the best league in the world. I hope that today's victory will make us stronger, build faith in the team and that we will be able to compete against everyone. We will be closer to victory. We will celebrate the victory a lot, it's a hard-fought win."

“Rarely do you win without suffering, it's very hard. Every team is strong. It's wonderful to see how they play, it's a reality. We are happy that the fans leave with a smile on their faces,” he concluded.
