SAN FERNANDO MONUMENT IS THE LOCATION FOR OUR OFFICIAL 24/25 FIRST-TEAM PHOTOSHOOT

On Friday morning, 27 September, our first-team squad headed to one of the city of Sevilla's most famous landmarks as they do each year for the official team photoshoot. This year, the chosen location was the San Fernando monument on Plaza Nueva, right in the heart of the city.

The club's badge is one of the only in the world to appear on its city's monument to its patron saint, in this case that of King Fernando III. 15 August of this year marked a century since the statue was erected, and the 775th anniversary of Fernando III's reconquest of Sevilla as part of the nation of Spain was celebrated last year. 

One component of the statue, that in honour of Ramón de Bonifaz, was crafted by José Lafita Díaz, who inspired his brother, Juan Lafita Díaz, to create the first known crest of Sevilla FC, the symbol of SFC, which still features on our badge today.
