NAVAS: "THE PAST FEW MONTHS HAVE BEEN A CHALLENGE BUT I WILL GIVE EVERTHING UNTIL MY FINAL GAME"

Captain Jesus Navas spoke at the midweek press conference ahead of this Sunday's match against Real Betis at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán. He started by emphasising that “I'm really looking forward to the derby, we know that it's different for everyone, for the fans. It's my last derby and I'm really looking forward to enjoying it and giving joy to the fans." 

“To have played so many derbies is a nice fact, so it would be wonderful to play this last one, for my family, the fans. Hopefully we can get the victory, which would be the most beautiful prize,” he added.

Jesús Navas spoke about the pain he has been feeling lately: “My family tells me so, but I surprise myself. I am strong and I have played a long time with pain, but the past few months have been a challenge for me but for my people, my fans, my Sevilla I will give everything until the end." 

“The most beautiful thing is that we continue with the same passion, the enjoyment before, after, the way people live in the city. This must always continue to be so, with respect on both sides and being focused on giving our fans the greatest thing, which would be the victory,” said the captain.

"It is a source of pride to be respected by all the fans and to experience these ovations in the stadiums" 

“We try to instill in all the new teammates what this means and they live it daily. It's a special game, to go all out and to give the fans that prize,” he said about what is said to the new players in the dressing room.

On the ovations that he is getting in every stadium during this last season, Jesús Navas emphasised that “It is an honor to be respected by all the fans, to experience ovations in many stadiums. It is not easy to achieve that and I have done it by being humble and always with my values." 

“It's my hip that won't let me go on. At home there are days when I have a very bad time and I try not to think about it. I know it's going to be difficult when the last day comes, not knowing what to do from then on,” an emotional Navas ended by saying.
