Head coach

Hansi Flick enjoyed a playing career as a midfielder for the likes of SV Sandhausen, Bayern Munich, and 1. FC Köln before starting his managerial career with Victoria Bammental. He later managed 1899 Hoffenheim, guiding them to promotion, and served as Germany’s assistant coach from 2006 to 2014, with whom he won the 2014 World Cup. In 2019, Flick rejoined Bayern Munich, leading them to a UEFA Champions League victory and a historic treble before then adding the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup to complete just the second-ever sextuple in European club football. After managing the German national team from 2021 to 2023, he was appointed head coach of Barcelona in 2024.

Stadium

The Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium was built in 1927 for the 1929 International Exposition and Barcelona’s unsuccessful 1936 Olympics bid, it was renovated in 1989 for the 1992 Summer Olympics and Paralympics. Since the 2023–24 season, it has served as FC Barcelona’s temporary home during the Camp Nou renovation. With a current capacity of 54,367 seats, it is Spain's sixth-largest stadium and the second-largest in Catalonia. It is named after Lluís Companys, the Catalonian president during the Spanish Civil War. Interestingly it was the stadium in which Jesús Navas made his debut, coming off the bench for the final 12 minutes in a league game against RCD Espanyol on 23 November 2003.
