José Gandul Alcántara, who served as an advisor at the club in two separate spells, has sadly passed away. Born in Sevilla in 1935, Gandul joined the board of directors led by Luis Cuervas during the 1986/87 season. He immediately put the then-Club President's plans for a new Sporting Committee into action, and was later named third-in-command at the club.
Several years later, after some time away from the club, he returned to the board, this time serving under Club President Roberto Alés in March 2000. A month later, he was named as president of Sevilla Atlético (then known as Sevilla B) and the youth academy, a position he held until the end of 2004, under the presidency of Jose María Del Nido Benavente.
Everybody at the club sends our condolences to his loved ones at this difficult time. May he rest in peace.
