Jesús Navas continues to be recognised as one of the great Andalusian athletes of all time. Tonight, at the Hotel Colón, Navas was presented with the Andalucía Sport Award by the newspaper 'La Razón'. Our captain, who will be finishing his career on 30 December, was given this award in front of many notable Andalusian individuals and institutions, including the 'Comité Español de Representantes de Personas con Discapacidad' (CERMI), the 'Grupo Editorial Letrame', the 'Asociación de Empresarios de Publicidad de Sevilla', the Almuzara Publishers, the journalist José Francisco Domínguez del Postigo and former Minister of Labour and Social of Spain Manuel Pimentel.
Club Vice-President, José Castro, accompanied Navas at this gala, in which Antonio Sanz, advisor to the Andalusian Parliament, was also present. Our captain was very grateful for the award and the recognition, stating, "It is an honour to receive this award here, at my home, it always feels extra special. Also, the award looks at the human aspect, not just the sporting. That is the best thing - the recognition and warmth shown by everyone."
