Sevilla FC Womens side suffered a painful defeat this Saturday against Real Madrid (4-1). After a solid 20-minute spell from David Losada’s side, in which they had possession and almost found the back of the net, three quality actions from the white team ultimately tipped the balance in their favour too early, even adding another goal before the break, which further hindered the chances of the visitors.

In the first half, Sevilla FC Women started well and challenged Alberto Toril's team, with Lucía Corrales the standout player on the visitors' side. The home side were rewarded after several close calls before the midway point of the first half, with a goal from Shei García. With no time to breathe, in the 25th minute, Toletti created a good shot from the edge of the box, and in the 29th minute, Linda Caicedo scored the third to inflict more damage on a Sevilla team that perhaps were unlucky. After several more close calls from Olga Carmona on the wing, Bruun dealt another heavy knock by scoring the fourth before the break.

In the second half, with the result looking very difficult to turn around, the Sevilla coach began to make changes, bringing Alba Cerrato on from the start and giving Pamela González another opportunity- returning to the pitch after recovering from an injury that had kept her sidelined for several weeks -to add fresh energy to the midfield. The team continued to press, and the substitutions proved effective as Alba López, with less than 20 minutes remaining, entered the pitch and, with her first touch of the ball, scored Sevilla's goal following a rebound.

In the closing stages the team finished the match strongly despite being a player down, as Millaray Cortés had to leave the pitch with five minutes remaining due to an ankle injury The next fixture -the last of 2024 in Liga F and at the Estadio Jesús Navas - will be on Sunday December 15 at 19:00 against Athletic Club, a match in which the team will fight for three more points to strengthen their position at home.
