Following his last appearance as a professional player, Jesús Navas, understandably emotional, spoke after the defeat at the Bernabéu: “There have been many moments, many emotions and today has been another emotional day. The affection and support from everyone has been incredible. I have achieved many things and won many titles in my career, but with everything I enjoyed with my people and as a Sevilla player, saying goodbye here was like closing the circle. I would define my career by dedication and sacrifice. There have been difficult moments but I think I have always been there for Sevilla and for the national team. I am very calm for all the work I have done and for me these months have been like a gift. Today the game was difficult but the team kept going, we had chances and I think that's the attitude we need."

On the game itself, Juanlu Sánchez acknowledged that the start of the match was not ideal: “When you play at these grounds it's always a bit more demanding because you're 3-0 down and it's difficult. But I think that in the end the team has pulled out some pride even if it wasn't enough to give Jesús a point in his farewell. You score two, but, as in the Metropolitano they score four and it is very difficult to win. The only thing left to do is to rest during the winter break and come back as best as possible. Jesús has been a great teammate, he has helped us a lot and he deserves everything. On the 30th we will give him a nice farewell."
