Sevilla Atlético did not disappoint in their first match of the new year at the Jesús Navas Stadium against AD Mérida. After an evenly matched first half against a Mérida side battling for a playoff spot for promotion, Jesús Galván's team imposed their game plan on the pitch with an excellent second half. Antonetti scored the only goal of the match just two minutes past the hour mark, in a game where Galván's players could have easily extended their lead on the scoreboard.
