Sevilla Atlético secured two consecutive wins for the first time this season. In the Andalusian derby away against Atlético Sanluqueño, the Seville side claimed victory thanks to a decisive goal from García Pascual in a second half full of intensity, where both teams had few goal-scoring opportunities. With this win, Sevilla Atlético made a significant leap in the standings, rising to 11th place before facing the important match against Intercity next Saturday at 18:00 CET.

The first half played in Sanlúcar de Barrameda won’t be one to remember for the neutral spectator. It was a first half full of intensity but lacking in football, with Antonetti registering the only notable chance. After a great combination between Darío, Hormigo, and Manu Bueno, the Puerto Rican skilfully shook off his marker in the small box and got off a left-footed shot that went straight at Samu, who easily saved it to keep the score level. Both teams tightened up in the first 45 minutes, heading to the locker room with everything still to play for in the second half.

The script didn’t change in the second half. Antonetti, after making a good individual run, tried a long-range shot with his right foot that went out for a corner—Sevilla’s first real threat in the second 45 minutes. After the hour mark, Sevilla Atlético, who had been the better side in the second half, took the lead with a superb header from García Pascual following a well-measured cross from Dimas on the right wing. Timing his jump perfectly, García Pascual put the first goal on the scoreboard with a powerful header, much to the dismay of Samu. The local team kept pushing to find the equalizer, with Pavón coming close with a shot off target, their best chance. In stoppage time, Mateo Mejía had a chance to seal the game in a one-on-one, but the local keeper came out on top. Thus, with a narrow victory, Sevilla Atlético claimed back-to-back wins for the first time this season, just ahead of their match against Intercity.
