Sevilla FC Women were made to leave empty-handed from their visit to the league leaders FC Barcelona (5-1). The home side showed their quality from the first whistle, and while Sevilla FC Women stayed competitive in the first half, they were outclassed in the second.

Under pressure from the start, Sevilla FC Women could not prevent FC Barcelona from taking the lead in the 20th minute, through Ewa Pajor. She then doubled the lead in the 34th, despite Esther Sullastres' impressive initial save. The deficit was halved, however, as Fatou Kanteh took advantage of Cata Coll's indecision in injury time at the end of the first half.

After the break, FC Barcelona made their superiority count, extending their lead through Vicky López and Alba Caño. Late on, Aitana Bonmatí made it five for the home side.

Next up for David Losada's side is the derby match against Real Betis, which will be played away from home at 18:00 CEST on Sunday 27 April.
