Joaquín Caparrós spoke after the win against UD Las Palmas. On what happened at the Sánchez-Pizjuán, the Sevilla coach first wanted to refer to the fans: "The first thing I want to say is that the fans have been amazing. They have shown that they know when they have to be there, regardless of the situations that may arise. Today the colour was spectacular and I take my hat off to them. The players came out, they gave everything, we started well and we had our chances, we suffered but we achieved a very important victory for the players and for the fans."

As for the match itself, he said that "Today was their game. It was decided by the players, not by me. They did what they needed to do and they gave everything. We have all suffered, the same as any Sevillista. It has been a shame that since I arrived maybe I haven't been able to be the driving force that people expected from the start but in the end I'm happy and I'll get on with preparing for the next game. Now it's time to think about Real Madrid, recover and prepare as well as possible. As for the injured players, Kike might be a doubt, but we'll wait and see."

In addition, he was also questioned about the role of the players promoted into the first team: "The academy has a lot of talent. Over the years it has produced World Cup winners. I'm glad that our academy graduates -  Carmona, Kike, Manu Bueno, Álvaro who scored the goal today - have a lot of talent and they should always be important."
