Sevilla FC are seven points better off than at the same stage of the 14/15 season with five more than in 06/07

Ahead of the respective Barcelona and Real Madrid games on Sunday, Sevilla are joint-top of La Liga after recording a third consecutive league win. The defeat of Real Betis took Jorge Sampaoli’s side to a total of 52 points from 24 games, matching the points haul achieved in the entire 2015/16 season to demonstrate the trajectory of the Nervión outfit in this campaign.

The exceptional points return shows growth on the 45 points reached at the same stage of the 14/15 season and the 47 in 06/07 – the season in which Sevilla were in the hunt for the title until the final game of the season.
