Sergio Rico was delighted with his side's victory against Real Betis in El Gran Derbi, with second half goals from Mercado and Iborra securing three points in Heliópolis.
“It was very important to win today," said the goalkeeper. "Above all, because of the rivalry that exists between the two sides. We are very happy and satisfied with the result.
"In the first half we were lacking a bit of a spark, we were able to react in the second half and responded well to get the win.”
The 23-year-old insists that the side are not looking at the table as the Liga title race hots up.
“We always try to win games and the points come with that. We don’t look at them; we are working hard to meet our objective through our individual work and thinking about taking three points from every one of our games.
“We’ve got to keep our feet on the ground, but since we’re in this position, why not dream and work really hard to reach it?"
