Good news from Croatia for José Alonso Lara, who is playing for Spain at the European Under 17 Championship. The forward, who started in the opener against Turkey, played the final 20 minutes of this Saturday's decisive clash against Italy, and he left his mark on the match once again.
Lara replaced Sergio Gómez, who at that point had scored the only goal of the match, but it only took him five minutes to win a penalty, as he had done against Turkey. Abel Ruiz stepped up to score the second before wrapping up the win himself in the closing stages. In stoppage time Italy scored a consolation goal through Caviglia.
Spain have now qualified for the quarter-finals, and on Tuesday will play the hosts, Croatia. They will be looking to top the group ahead of the quarter-finals where they will face Scotland, Hungary or France.
