Sevilla FC finished a sensational 16/17 league campaign with a resounding win against Osasuna, leaving them with 72 points, a total which was only bettered by Unai Emery's 14/15 side which ended on 76 points. 21 wins, 9 draws and 8 defeats leave Sevilla with a historic tally which beats those of other seasons which have ended with Champions League qualification, such as the 71 points achieved by Juande Ramos's side in 06/07 (a team which fought for the title until the last day of the season) and the 70 points won by Manolo Jiménez's Sevilla which finished third in 08/09.
