Sevilla FC manager, Eduardo Berizzo, evaluated his side's first defeat of the season against Atlético Madrid: "We made changes so everyone could be fresh and rested in a very demanding schedule. We were made to struggle going forward seconds after the second half started because our plans changed immediately after leaving the changing room."
The Argentine added to his evaluation: "we need to find a way of repeating the same dominance we have in the centre of the park in the final third."

Finally, Berizzo said Sevilla FC played at the same level and does not dwell on differences in budget: "I don't value squads according to what they cost but by their footballing ability. Of course, money gives you options to have more expensive players but there are other scales to go by. Today we played at the same level, we dominated at times and the match had an unfortunate ending for us."
