MERCADO: "IT WAS DIFFICULT TO RECOVER FROM SUCH A GOAL AGAINST ATLÉTICO"

The Sevillista centre-midfielder Gabi Mercado discussed in the press conference Sevilla's recent defeat against Atlético Madrid: "We have really exerted ourselves today, we played well in the first half, but perhaps we lacked the required depth. They secured a goal and this meant that we faced an uphill struggle".

Mercado also appreciated the team's rotations: "We know that the coach always tries his best to make changes with all the matches that we play. We were aware that today it was very difficult and it was a shame that we cannot bring anything home. It proves difficult to recover from such a goal against a team like Atlético".
