An apperance in which the player denied any favourite tag: "No team is the favourite against any in this competition. They are playing well, just as we are, and that's why they are here in this competition.  We are not going to deny them of respect and we will treat them as equals, looking to win without considering favouritism".

Following on from his absence at the Wanda Metropolitano, he expressed hope to be in the starting squad for the match tomorrow: "Every player always wants to be in the starting squad and we have an deep side. All of us are hoping to return to the game tomorrow to win and make up for the defeat against Atlético. We hope the match will give us with another victory".

Furthermore, he believes that the fans should push the team as they would in any other match: "For us, all matches are like a final and we must play with maximum intensity. The supporters revitalise the team which is important, as in all matches".

On what Maribor can offer, the wing-back was clear: "They're one of the best teams in Solvenia, with the most honours and they'll be compact, sitting back against us and looking for their opportunity. They're going to let us have the ball and will try to counter when they win it."

Moreover, on a more specific matter, he was asked about how to create chances for a full-back to join an attack: "You have to know how to read the rhythm of the game a bit and what situations to choose to attack. I'm a defender and I have to focus on that but I like to join attacks."
