SEVILLA FC FIND OUT THEIR FIRST COPA DEL REY OPPONENT TODAY

The third competition of the season begins. Though the first Copa del Rey game will not be played until the 25^th of October, at midday today, Sevilla FC will find out the name of their first opponents in the round-of-32 in the Copa del Rey. As is already known, the first opponent will be one of the seven sides of Segunda B who have reached the stage. Along with Lleida Esportiu, SD Ponferradina, Fuenlabrada CF, Elche CF, Real Murcia, FC Cartagena and SD Formentera have made it through.

These seven sides will be drawn against the seven Spanish sides competing in European football. That's to say they will face either Sevilla FC, Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Atlético Madrid, Villerreal CF, Real Sociedad or Athletic Club Bilbao. From there, the five teams from LaLiga 1|2|3 sill in the competition - Real Valladolid, Real Zaragoza, CD Numancia and CD Tenerife - will play against five of the 13 other Premier Division sides in the draw. All knockout matches in the round-of-32 take place in the ground of the lower seeded side. 

In terms of dates, the round-of-32 will take place on the 25^th of October (leg 1) and the 29^th of November (leg 2). Then in January the round-of-16 will take place (on the 3^rd and 10^th) as well as the quarter-finals (the 17^th and 24^th) and the semi-finals (due to take place on the 31^st). On the 7^th of February we will already know the two participants of the Copa del Rey Final, currently scheduled to take place on Saturday the 21^st of April.
