ARIAS: "THE SQUAD WILL MOULD TO MONTELLA'S IDEAS"

Sevilla FC Director of Football, Óscar Arias explained the reasons behind the hiring of the Italian coach at this Saturday's unveiling of Vincenzo Montella: "Following the dismissal of Eduardo we needed to fill the role and amongst the options that we had we thought from the very first moment that Vincenzo - due to his characteristics as a coach and his proposals -  was exactly what we needed. The squad will very much mould to his ideas", he said.   

On new arrivals that could bolster the team, he said: "as the boss has said, these sorts of questions will be discussed with calm... Bit by bit he'll be in contact with the group, getting to know the strengths of the squad and the necessities and in these days we'll be in contact to decide what might interest us". 

Analysing the sporting situation, Arias admitted that "it's true that the team hadn't stopped working. It's possible that the recuperation of players at a lower level will be as important as the incorporation of players who can come to help".
